You can count on The Apples in stereo to come up with catchy dance tunes and then toss their audience a curve ball to throw them off their feet with a geeky ditty entitled C.P.U.. On their new concept album Travellers In Time In Space the Apples dance the night away. Main composer Robert Schneider dresses up for the occasion, slipping into a Star Wars fashion victim outfit with pimp sun glasses. The beard is still there, too.

With spoken word bits that conjure up the spirit of Richard Burton, computerized vocals a la ELO in their Out of the Blue and vintage keyboard sounds, Travellers In Time In Space could have ended up being a cheesy disaster. By holding the reigns firmly is their hands, The Apples in stereo steer successfully around the musical pitfalls and dark holes that they encounter during their quest. Recommended if you like Douglas Adams and Dr. Who.
