Spinner reports that Akex Chilton's death might have been prevented:

Alex Chilton's unexpected death last month at age 59 might have been prevented if he had health insurance. According to a report in the Times-Picayune, Chilton's wife, Laura Kersting, says that although he had symptoms of heart trouble, he declined immediate treatment due to lack of coverage

When you are a celebrity, with a good job, such as Alex had, the insurance excuse isn't that valid.

I'm certain this man made a lot more money than the general populatuon of the US, and therefore could probably more easily afford proper care. Sounds like he just didn't go see a doctor, and the insurance excuse is being used.

It's possible the man was broke, but i highly doubt it.

Well, actually, it doesn't seem all that unlikely to me. Ever went to one of his shows?
