JAM! Music reports that Iggy Pop quits stage diving. The crowd at a Carnegie Hall gig failed to catch him:

Iggy Pop has vowed to quit crowd surfing following an unfortunate incident in New York which left him battered and bruised.
The veteran rocker is well known for leaping into the audience at his gigs, but his signature stage dive went awry during a recent concert at Carnegie Hall.
The crowd parted and he landed flat on the floor - and The Stooges star is adamant he won't be jumping off the stage again any time soon.
He says, "When I landed it hurt and I made a mental note that Carnegie Hall would be a good place for my last stage dive. The audience were just like, 'What are you doing?'"

According to Uncut Stooges will be recording material for a new album.

Via Audio

Brooklyn pop band Via Audio covers a lot of ground. On their Animalore album a slide guitar driven love song (Wanted) sit comfortably next to funky eighties dance music inspired tracks like Babies, Tigers, and Digital, which sounds like a lost track by Depeche Mode. And Oh Blah Wee is a sped-up poppy Americana ditty.

All members met at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. With their schooling they picked up a lot tricks and influences, but their sound is very much their own - if push comes to shove they go for smart pop songs grounded in adventurous rhythms.

Via Audio:

Jessica Martins: vocals, keyboards, guitar
Tom Deis: guitar, vocals
David Lizmi: bass
Dan Molad: drums
