French blog La Blogotheque is the home of Les Concerts à Emporter (Take Away Shows), capturing bands playing their songs in unusual places. Adam Hall directed a video of The Low Anthem performing Apothecary. It was filmed in the Great Hall at Grand Central Station in New York.

We connected with The Low Anthem in the middle of the Great Hall at Grand Central Station. The band had been on the road for the mostly all of 2009; their hair was long and their were eyes a little bleary. The one thing that comforted them was their instruments which be it Ben's guitar, Matt's accordion, Jocie's shaker made out of pill bottles and rubber bands, or Jeff's bass drum, was never out of their hands. It was here where The Low Anthem warmed up with "Apothecary" a song that has yet to appear on any of their albums. Security being what it is these days in New York City, it's hard to get away with too much in public spaces before the authorities shut you down. Perhaps it was the season, but somehow the officers let the band play, let us roll our camera, and let the passersby watch. For a moment we were all on the same path.

John Cale

John Cale has yet another interview on the BBC. About the possibility of releasing a new album:

What's next for you?
When I'm finished with this series of concerts in July I'll go back into the studio and finish these songs. I have 28 songs at the moment, but I've got to finish them. I haven't figured out how to release them, that's a bit of a conundrum.

Do you still believe in the album as a concept?
I'm not sure that I do. Todd Rundgren gave a concert in New York the other day and immediately after you could get a memory stick of what you'd just experienced. I thought that was a very shrewd idea and wondered if there are any variations of that I could do.

The full interview will be on The Music Week on 6 Music on Sunday from 1300-1400 GMT.
