if "paris 1919" is the past maybe the flipside is the future and Cale will play a batch of new songs, his myspace said he's been busy one hopes the bulk of that activity has been in the recording studio

The "flipside" was a set of some of his rockier songs - he played Sold-Motel, Perfect, Fear, Dirty Ass Rock n Roll etc as well as a couple of songs that I didn't recognise and might be new (though they might equally have been old ones I don't know). He also did a (possibly) new version of Amsterdam (think the rearrangements on Circus Live - pretty sparse). He closed with Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night then Hedda Gabler, both with the orchestra.
Needless to say, it was fantastic. The orchestral arrangements worked well and his band has developed into something really good - they're a very tight, very talented unit.
