YouTube banned the video for Running with the Beast of Dutch band zZz. A cock fight was filmed in Thailand - two roosters covered with ink fight on a white canvas, creating the cover for the zZz album. It's still up on Vimeo.

Roel Wouters, who also directed the award-winning video for the first single ('Grip') of the new album, said "This is a video about two artists who have created the conditions to capture rage. It's about capturing patterns of nature. In my work I like to create tools or conditions in order to reveal a certain process."

Running with the Beast is released on Excelsior in The Netherlands. A worldwide release is due on Anti-.

Meaghan Smith

Meaghan Smith from Hailifax, Canada, is into pre-WWII jazz. Her EP The Cricket's Quartet sticks close to that concept, with a bit of turntablism thrown in. She has the voice to handle her material quite well - If You Asked Me really swings.

The EP comes with a DVD with videos for all the tracks. She has a dopey eyed looked, knowing that the directors will be adding superimposed animated animals circling around her head. She can't act, but she can sing.
