Arizona

Don't let them fool you. Arziona are not from Arizona. They hail from Brooklyn and ended up in North Carolina, where they recorded their new album Glowing Bird. Having explored folk rock on two previous EPs and a full length, this collection of songs are a little rougher, with occasional feedback creeping in. They kept the layered vocals and their signature dry drum sound.

The members of Arizona have an ecletic taste in music, ranging from Ella Fitzgerald to Yes to Megadeth. They like to spice up their folk mainstay with a whiff of the unexpected. Headphones stuff.

Arizona:
Nick Campbell: vocals, guitar
James DeDakis: drums, vocals
Alex Hornbake: bass, vocals
Ben Wigler: vocals, guitar

The Boxing Lesson have put up a new stop-motion music video for the song Brighter off of Wild Streaks and Windy Days.

The technical spec on this video are impressive as 7000 still-photos were taken and run together to create this stop-motion music video. Behind the camera lens was Victor Yiu of Rockpark Photography and this was shot over the course of a few days in a cemetery behind the band's house. Editing took place for over a month with Victor Yiu, Jaylinn Davidson and Matt Murray grinding away meticulously. Local bands Built by Snow and the Story Of can be seen as well as Austinist writer and local party animal Adi Anand & some of our friends all helped us with being extras and playing the zombies.
