The Move - Anthology 1966-1972

Fall is here and so it's time again for the CD box sets to while away the hours of a rainy night. The Move Anthology 1966-1972 is a 4CD set, scheduled for release October 27 on Salvo Records in conjunction with Fly Records:

Classic hit singles, b-sides, choice album cuts, a wealth of previously unreleased material including never-before-heard songs, demos, alternate takes & live recordings from 1966-72. The full-colour 72-page booklet with rare & unseen photos & memorabilia includes extensive 10,000-word Move history & band interviews by with complete track-by-track info & UK discography.

One of the disc contains a previously unreleased 1968 live gig at The Marquee in London.

Midwest Dilemma: Timelines & Tragedies

Justin Lamoureux has come up with a musical genealogy. His ancestors started out as fur traders in Canada, came down on hard times during the Great Depression in the thirties, were caught in the Vietnam War and now they are living in Omaha. Naming his project Midwest Dilemma he rounded up a total of 23 musicians to perform on his extraordinary folk album Timelines & Tragedies.

Using strings, woodwinds, guitars, accordion and a musical saw this album catapults itself to the upper echolons of folk music. Think Fairport Convention, The OaKs, and Danny Schmidt. Lamoureux will tour with a few select musicians - try finding a stage that can hold two dozens of players.
