Beach House: Devotion

Baltimore duo Beach House have come up with a second helping of dreamy songs for their sophomore album Devotion. Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally have created subtle soundscapes that require a set of really good speakers. This is the downtempo album that the White Stripes will never make.

Devotion is released on Carpark Records. Available on CD and gatefold 2LP.

High on Stress is a quartet from Minneapolis. They are into Big Star, REM and Wilco, writing catchy pop rock songs. They released an album called Moonlight Girls and are currently putting the finishing touches to the follow-up entitled Cop Light Parade. Despite their name they are pretty laid back. File under: Golden Smog and Ryan Adams.
