Every band starts out banging out tunes at home. Railroad Earth has gone full circle and set up their instruments at songwriter Todd Sheaffer’s 300-year old farmhouse in the rural New Jersey countryside to lay down the tracks for their new album Amen Corner. The results are warm and crips recordings, all songs bouncing off the walls in a way that will cost you plenty to emulate in a studio.
Amen Corner is an essential addition to your Americana collection. Railroad Earth have carefully honed their chops on the road and recording at home has giving them the opportunity to build their songs in a relaxed environment. It might be recognized as their
Exile on Main St without the drugs in years to come. An they have a secret weapon: Andy Goessling, a multi-instrumentalist who can tackle more stuff than most other bands put together.
