Zappa Spielt Für Bach

The upcoming Zappanale in Hamburg, Germany, has a special treat:

The proceeds from the benefit concert will be donated to the “Stiftung Johann Sebastian” towards the project “An organ for Bach at St. Catherine’s”. The opening concert of the Zappanale 2008 will take place in Hamburg’s St. Catherine’s Church and features the US band Bogus Pomp and former Zappa saxophonist Napoleon Murphy Brock, member of the legendary band Mothers of Invention. The organist Gabriele Hufnagel from Hamburg will play excerpts from the Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Salme Dahlstrom:

Another Swedish singer that ended up in the USA. Salme Dahlstrom is into electonic pop goodness. Over the top, but never losing her footing, her album The Acid Cowgirl Audio Trade is a good time party album that should be played really fucking loud..

Salme Dahlstrom: The Acid Cowgirl Audio Trade

Salme Dahlstrom handled most the instruments her self, programmed her own break-neck-speed breakbeats and self-produced the album in her studio in New York City. None of tracks run for more that four-and-a-half minutes, which is just as well, thus giving the listener a short breather before being transported to the next song. You may need some really laid back music to wind down afterwards. This a powerpop that packs a mean punch, with surprisingly good lyrics as an added bonus.

The Acid Cowgirl Audio Trade is released on Kontainer Music. Buy it from CD Baby or download from iTunes.

Tracks:
  1. Intro
  2. Bombastic
  3. Superstar Car Crash
