Cory Chisel and The Wandering Sons don't like to be tied down to a genre. They list Americana, folk and neo-soul as their mainstays, but there is also some jazz, gospel, bluegrass and country shimmering through the cracks of the songs on their forthcoming EP Cabin Ghosts.
This Wisconsin band have been flying under the radar for quite some time, with singer and guitar player Corey Chisel supplying the material. Part of the EP was recorded live and you can picture the septet in your minds eye on a small overcrowded stage shutting up the regulars with faultless changes and advanced licks. Corey Chisel's dad was a preacher, so he was able to observe first hand what it takes to get a crowd's attention.
Cabin Ghosts will be released on Black Seal, a RCA imprint. No definite release date known yet.
