Greg Howe: Sound Proof

Being a guitarists guitarist is pretty cool, but it won't pay the rent. You have to do session work in order to survive. Greg Howe is a master on six strings and has been seriously overqualified player for acts like Enrique Iglesias, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake and *NSYNC.

So what does a guy do when he can play whatever the hell he wants for a change? Make an album with, jazz, fusion, a bit of country and some good ol' shredding, that's what. Sound Proof has written effect-pedaled monster written all over it.

Sound Proof is a guitar album first. However, Greg Howe knows what it means for a sideman not being able to show his stuff. He is giving the other musicians plenty of change to shine. Look for it in the "best albums of 2008" in magazines like Guitar Player by the end of this year.

Greg Howe: guitar
Gianluca Palmieri: drums
Jon Reshard: bass guitar
Dave Cook: keyboards

well, one of the best guitarist ever.....personally, I like the 2 collaborative cds with richie kotzen....it's raw, fast and furious, and has killer grooves momentum....A must have in your audio collection.......if You r a guitarist, well, pick your gear and work 24/7 to reach such a high level of virtuosity......my opinion simply......

There are guitarists of all kinds - great ones, virtuosos, shredders, tone popes and killer rhythm practitioners and fusion geniuses but only one Greg Howe!!! I love all his albums and I just got this one! My all time favourite is Extraction but this one is growing on me as well. Greg Howe is both a lyrical and an extremely adept technical player. His solos sound really melliflous in places but his groove is spot on and don't even try to figure out his timing. His fast passages have you gawking in their wake while your ears (your fingers have long since died!) are struggling to keep up. And his improvisation skills are not of this world! Howe can shred with the best of them and even sound like Larry Carlton while doing it - How(e) is as good as this gets!!!!
