Omni

Seattle trio Omni is a progressive left-field shoegaze outfit which is best experienced with the lights turned down. Their album Ghosts is an update of late eighties UK electronics based bands like Depeche Mode and This Mortal Coil. Main songwriter Chris Cullmann has a gift for telling meandering stories that fit seamlessly with the soundscapes that the band comes up with. You don't dance to this music, you listen to it very carefully, discovering something new each time.

Omni:
Will Andrews: drums
Chris Cullmann: vocals, bass, Warr guitar
David Green: guitar, vocals, electronics

Ghosts is released on Faux Pas Records.

San Francisco singer Anna Laube can be described is just one word: tender. If you like mellow folk songs, this is a singer you want to check out. She released an album in 2006, Outta My Head, and has a busy touring schedule covering the coffee house circuit that has been embracing her kind of music for decades.

She sounds like the favorite aunt most people never actually had -- a husky voice embedded slide guitar, upright piano and easy going drums and bass.
