Tokyo Police Club: Elephant Shell

For some reason Canadian band Tokyo Police Club has been getting tons of music bloggers love. Which is odd, because their forthcoming album Elephant Shell is just another indie rock record and a mediocre one to put it politely.

Singer Dave Monks tries to channel the whine and bravado of Ian "can't be bothered about anything" Gallagher. No wonder his "girlfriend traded him for a love song". Don't put this on when you go on a long drive. You might end being asleep at the wheel.

Elephant Shell is released on Saddle Creek Records. Release date: April 22.

Concerning my post:

FYI: got an advance copy of this album for review from Bryan Vaughan <bryan@themusebox.net > from Promo Agency The Musebox.
So I assumed that it would be OK to post a track with the review.

Nevertheless I have taken down the track, but I sincerely think that there's no fault on my side.

Regards,

Hans

Hi Hans,

Many thanks for your post (and mail) ... .. please rest assured that we're not casting any aspersions against you and sorry that you weren't informed by the promo agency as to which tracks are okay to post / preview (and which not) ... .. thanks again and do feel free to host / post "In A Cave" and "Juno".

All The Best,

WEB SHERIFF

Thanks for getting back to me. I picked the "Graves" track to make my point about the singer being left by his girlfriend. Since I did not enjoy this album I shall refrain from posting "In A Cave" or "Juno". A quick search turned up plenty of websites where my readers can hear them.
