Who plays when at the first installment of the Awesometown festival? Tons of nice bands on two stages, dude. You can blame Give Us The Money Lebowski for dreaming up this festival.

O! The Joy: Zen Mode

Post-rock form Sacramento, CA. O! The Joy proofs that there is a future for leftfield West Coast bands with an East Coast sound. Zen Mode is a deceptive title for a hard hitting album with constantly shifting polyrhythms.

Mix the Byrds' guitar tone with half a pint of Sonic Youth and a pinch of The Residents and you get the picture. Adventurous college radio jocks will love these guys.

O! The Joy:
Justin Goings: drums, cymbals, polyrhythms
Jason Ellis: guitars, effects, samples
Kurt Travis: vocals, keys
Kyle Marcelli: bass groovez

Watch the video for Under The Radar.

Zen Mode is released on Distile Records.
