Keeping the soulful funk alive. That's what Chicago band Eli Jones is about. Their debut album Make It
Right hits the street on November 8. It's a mellow album honoring the less-is-more concept. Singer Stefanie Berecz is allowed to take center stage, the musicians holding back on most tracks. When they are allowed to pull out all the stops, Eli Jones transforms into a heavy funk monster a la Mother's Finest. Miss Berecz is no Baby Jane Kennedy, but she sure puts up a fight.
Make It Right is an album that deserves to be used for a retro seventies police series.
