The Burden Brothers are on a crossroads: to the right straightforward FM radio friendly rock, to the left grunge driven riffs -- a bit harder to swallow, but better taste in the long run. Their album Mercy is a schizophrenic affair. The single Everybody Is Easy is a fist-pumping hell yeah ditty, a track like Daughter of Science is a dark brooding, rumbling song.

The band claims that are into crowd pleasing acts like Kiss and Queen, being bombastic is what they strive for when they hit the stage. Nothing wrong with that, but they should not be afraid to take risks. They have the capability to expand beyond the teenager market (yes, there is an airbrushed naked chick sporting a big tattoo across her breasts on the cover art -- the kind of girl that Beavis & Butthead would consider to be really cool).

Mercy is in stores October 31.

Bon Scott
All the songs we do are basically about one of three things: booze, sex or rock 'n' roll.
