EMI is looking for pics for the cover art of the new John Cale live album. Cosidering there was a "no smoking/no photo" policy at a lot of gigs, it's a pretty weird scheme.

Cover art?

Did you take pics on John's recent tour? ... if so would you like the opportunity to have them featured in forthcoming artwork?... if that's a yes on both counts just email them to try42policy2blog@photos.flickr.com - you can add a title to your picture in the subject line of the email - they'll then appear on the site for all to see & you might end up getting them used on John's forthcoming album 'John Cale Circus Live'.

The 'Oo on the Beeb at the Roundhouse.

The Who will premiere their new 'mini opera' alongside Damon Albarn's new project at the BBC Electric Proms in October.
The Who opera, entitled 'Wire & Glass' tells the tale of three children starting a rock band and is, according to Pete Townshend, "a concept piece".
Townshend told Radio One the storyline is about "three kids who form a band and they discover a stash of papers by some has-been rock star, talking about a massive internet experiment. It just seemed to me to be an appropriate thing to play."

There are no rules to songwriting, and I'd like to think it gets easier because I know more, but the more one does, the more you realize how limitless it is, you know? There's so many different ways of writing things. There are no hard-and-fast rules, and it doesn't get any easier. It does get a little trickier the more you know. You think you know what you're doing -- actually, you don't know what you're doing.
