Where the streets have famous names ...

Liverpool's world famous Penny Lane is escaping a proposed name change because of its links with the Beatles.
Local politicians are planning to rename streets in the city associated with the port's slave-trading past – but had overlooked the fact that Penny Lane was named in honour of James Penny, a 18th century slave ship owner.
However, now council member Barbara Mace, who has spearheaded the move, has said that Penny Lane – which attracts thousands of tourists every year – will retain the name made famous by the Paul McCartney tune of the same name.
