Having nearly kicked the bucket a few times has given me freedom: the freedom to say exactly what I mean, for better or for worse.

- Christopher Reeve (pre-kicking the bucket)

img: The late Christopher Reeve as Superman/Clark Kent Christopher Reeve has died. So it goes, as they say on Tralfamadore. The comedian Jerry Seinfeld is the world's greatest, and richest, Superman fan. He made sure that each episode had some reference to Superman tucked away somewhere. If you were bored or deranged, you could look out for them. To save you the time, here's the Top 5 Seinfeld/Superman moments, brought to you by The London News Review...

GEORGE: You know what this is to do with? The man in the cape. I bet you he is mixed up in this. I don't trust men in capes.
JERRY: You can't cast aspersions on someone just because they're wearing a cape. Superman wore a cape. And I'll be damned if I stand by and let you say anything bad about him...
GEORGE: Alright, Superman's the exception.

JERRY: The jokes kept bouncing off her like Superman.

ELAINE: Bizarro Jerry?
JERRY: Yeah, like Bizarro Superman, Superman's exact opposite, who lives in the backwards Bizarro World. Up is down, down is up, he says hello when he leaves, goodbye when he arrives.
ELAINE: Shouldn't he say badbye? Isn't that the opposite of goodbye?
JERRY: No, it's still goodbye.
ELAINE: Does he live underwater?
JERRY: No.
ELAINE: Is he black?
JERRY: Look, just forget the whole thing.

JERRY: I think Superman probably has a very good sense of humor.
GEORGE: I never heard him say anything really funny.

JERRY: It's tough to do a good deed. Let's look at your professional good-deed doers, your Lone Rangers, your Supermen, your Batmen, your Spidermen. They're all wearing disguises, masks over their faces, secret identities. They don't want people to know them because they cause too much aggravation. "Superman, yeah thanks for saving my life, but did you have to come through my wall? I'm renting here. They've got a security deposit. Now what am I supposed to do?"
