Brief from Dadaab refugee camp in Northern Kenya.

Because of the torrential rains of the last few days, some 80,000 refugees were swept away from their camps.

They are now camping on higher grounds around the camp.

Aid agencies are reporting lack of clean water and food.

A major relief operation has started.

'We are afraid of the outbreak of water borne diseases,' said UNHCR senior emergency co-ordinator Geoff Worley from Dadaab.
