LRA leader Joseph Kony speaks out

Posted on Thursday, August 03, 2006 8:12 AM
'I didn't commit any atrocity,' said LRA leader Joseph Kony after 20 years living in the bush. His Lord's Resistance Army is held responsible for the killing of thousands of people in Northern Uganda. The LRA is notorious because of its alledged cutting off lips, ears and noses of their victims. 'The Ugandan army is the one who commited the atrocities.'

Joseph Kony came out his camp in Northern Congo as a part of the recently started peace initiative. It was 20 years ago that the feared LRA leader showed his face.

Features and footage available from now.

Hi,
I saw your http://www.frame51.com/ site.
Its really interesting.
I myself travelled several times in Uganda to visit the country but yet not as you did.
I felt the tentions in some cases when travelling near the Sudan or Congo border; I saw the regular Army movements and caps (near Congo River, Inshasha) and up to Buindi.. Even in Queen Elizabeth.

Your videos showd the people stress in the face.
I would have loved to see the interview with Kony.
Is there somewhere I can see it?

I will probably be in Uganda this year as well, after visiting Rwanda for natural and atropological pleasure.

Congratulation for your report site.
