Something I think that headaches are a national disease in East Africa. You cannot go for two minutes on the streets without having some kind of headache relief fired to you. Hedex is the best represented, also on television. Especially there show nice ads with people getting instant help from this magic pill or powder. Next to that there are Panadol, Brufen, the good old aspirine, and dozens of others. It makes me wonder. Do Kenyans, Tanzanians, Ugandans, suffer from congenital headache? They drink and think too much, or are the daily worries too many? A large group has to survive on less then a Dollar a day. Sounds obvious, but still I think something else is going on. I noticed that all advertisers concentrate on small things. Of course there are hug signboads insisting on big cars, posh houses and hotels, but the majority of them are offering small daily needs. Milk, soap, lotions, washing powder, shoes, because these things can and will sell. Maybe just advertising pain killers gives you headaches, like yesterday a signboard for Steers' chicken burger gave that feeling? It all gives me a headache.
