Today at the Nairobi Stock Exchange the trade of KenGen shares began. At closure the shares went up from 11.9 Shilling up to 40 Shillings.

The release of shares in the national power company KenGen initiated a national rush, which at least on the first day shows succesful.

What's amazing and joyful, is that some 108 million US Dollars was drawn from a society where many people live on less than a Dollar a day.

That's what I like to see as proof for the dormant positive potential of African nations, now made sleepy by donors.
