Around these days it is twelve years ago that the Rwanda Genocide started in earnest. In 100 days some 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed in brutal violence.

Ruud, this is another very fine video report. I was especially impressed by the calm displayed by the young man and young woman as they told the story of the 1994 genocide from their respective points-of-view while visiting the genocide memorial musueum.

Note that I would like to link to this report from my blog in a future post BUT your blog automatically launches the embedded streaming video of the Kenya newspaper raids (old news) AND there is a new popup at your index page requesting the visitor to accept Active-X scripts. You might wanna look into that and fix what needs fixin'.

Otherwise, good job on remembering the 1994 Rwanda genocide.

I am a fifteen year old girl doing a Global History report on genocides. As I read articles, political cartoon, and looked at pictures, tears came to my eyes. I feel that the people behind the causes of genocides are simple-minded and ignorant. It disgusts me to know that there are people out there who have the nerve and audasity to kill innocent people. When I think about it I see visions of children, women, and men killed for absolutly no reason. This HAS to stop!!
