Joseph Bertiers won the Contemporary Arts Award in Nairobi. The jury was impressed by the figurative work of Bertiers, where he comments national and international politics. Bertiers had different exposition inside and outside Kenya.

Here shown is the video report I previously made on Bertiers.

The Contemporary Art Award was organised by Alliance Française de Nairobi and Goethe-Institut in collaboration with Kuona Trust and the Department of Culture.

President Kibaki is serious in fighting corruption. On street level it shows with signboards like this. His latest act is the sacking of the governor of the Central Bank of Kenya, related to alledged malicious acts. Can't image what happens to a country when a central bank governor might be corrupt.
