Due to a lack of foreign currencies in Zimbabwe the syrup needed to make the brew is finished, and so the local productions has stopped.

No Coca Cola? That liquid is even available in Siberia and Tristan de Cunha.  Even Somalia that doesn't have a central government since 1991 has a functional plant in Mogadishu, guarded by a private army.

Coca Cola in Zimbabwe was even available in the bush during the civil war that brought Robert Mugabe into power.

The loss of Coca Cola must be the worst that can happen to a country in terms of under-development.

Make every drop count!

The work of video journalist Ruud Elmendorp, travelling across Africa with a dvcam and laptop for editing. Reporting on news and current affairs.

Working now on a feature about the release of shares of the Kenyan power company Kengen. It's really amazing to see how people are queuing for it. Kengen even started a educational programme on investing in shares, and the possible promises for the future.
