Here is your kind video journalist reporting on the drought in Northern Kenya. The village is called Bubisa, and is located on the road between Marsabit and Turbi.

Script and preview available on this blog.

It was the second time I visited Turbi to report. Last July there were tribal clashes where some 90 people died.

It's one of the places I love the most in Nairobi. Club New Florida on Koinange Street, aka Madhouse.

It's an almost magical hot spot where prostitutes, commonly referred as girls, from allover East Africa meet the seemingly rich from all over the world. Finding Mr. Right is merely a matter of joining the never ending rave on the circular dance floor. The only moment the dance stops is when the show is on. Also for the dancers it's their hope to be picked up by somebody.

The atmosphere in this Madhouse is welcoming, and never there is any fighting or shouting. The girls at one stage will approach you for a chat, an indigenous Nairobi Handshake, or just to ask for a beer. Maybe you are the one who will fulfill many dreams. For the majority of the ladies it's dance until you drop.

Madhouse is also the only disco I know where the girls sleep. There is a concealed place behind one of the bars, nick named Majengo after one of the estates where the girls come from. The ones who didn't find the one this evening, sleep until the early morning when public transport starts again.

Welcome.
