Just an image that struck me on the same Kenyatta Market.

With the lotion 'Fair & Lovely' it's possible to gradually bleach a black skin. In Europe millions of people flock on sunshine beaches to acquire some taint, and here in Africa people do the thing the other way around.

It seems people always want they are not.

Just came from Kenyatta Market in Nairobi to make appointments for a video feature on braids. The place is great. Around an open space there are dozens of stalls where you can have your braids plaited. The ladies who perform are already shouting at possible customers at the matatu stage. 'Come to my shop. I give you good price.' I made an appointment with a lady owning a stall. She will guide me trough the process of plaiting. It really turned into an noble art of its own.
There's more on Kenyatta Market, also a large variety of nyama choma joints. So, the ladies who are attented, can meanwhile have fresh pieces of roasted goat, together with an indigenous Tusker beer.
