Came back from Kitui in the Ukambani region in Kenya. There an official famine is declared by the government. Reason is the prolonged draught in the area. Cultivation of the dry farm land is impossible, and people are now depending on food aid.
Here is the family Kalolo in the village Ikanga. They receive food aid. So every month six kilo of maize flour is supplied, 1.5 kilo pulses, and almost half a liter of cooking oil. The family now is able to survive. It shows that with relatively small help people's problems can be met.
