They're together, the leaders of the largest economies, somewhere in a five star place in Scotland. It's sad that the first full day is marked by bomb blasts in London. It shows that this earth carries two worlds. The one improving on its own conditions, and the other continuously trying to catch up. The differences between the G-nations are big, and hopefully they will agree on something. The biggest piece of a possible cake has already been given, the debt relief of a group of countries in Africa and abroad. It sounds like the fulfilment of a long time promise. Zambia, where I am at the moment, is one of the countries that got debt relief. So yesterday president Mwanawasa promised that the money that becomes available now, is going to be spent well in a transparent manner. Let's just wait, and in the mean time both worlds can start to find a solution to prevent that countries build up debts again. There are export quota, and there is subsidized farming in Europe and the US. Hopefully the G8 in there G-spot in Gleneagles will find an answer to that.
