Finally made it back to Nairobi, and still recovering from this five hour jet-lag. They say you need one day for each hour. Started the editing of the two last features on the tsunami relief in Banda Aceh.
Am in a cyber now behind Anniversary Towers in Nairobi, just beside the high commission of Zambia. Going there to get a visa. Next mission is in Zambia, and hopefully other places in Southern Africa.
Was amazed again about Dubai. There you can see two cultures colliding There is the old Arabic centre with the souks and coffee shops, and then the indulging hotels at the beach, where they easily charge 2,500 USD per night. Dubai is investing hugely in tourism, because they fear that one day the oil wells will be depleted. At least they have money to do that, and these developments have an incredible speed. In the on-board magazine of Emirates I read they're planning new hotels of 350 metres high, with 80 stories. That's just incredible. Definitely want to go back to make features on this desert paradise.
