Ik herinner me Flevoland van de lagere school met uitgestrekte gebieden die net zijn droog gevallen. Wandelend over deze etappe is er veel veranderd in 35 jaar. Mooie bossen waarin je je waant alsof de bossen er al honderden jaren zijn, uitgestrekte weilanden met rechte vaarten erlangs met soms een aangeplant partij lage struiken en bomen waar talrijke vogels leven. En daartussen weer die mooie blikken op wat eens het IJsselmeer was. Almere-Haven is een mooie tussenstop met een mooie haven maar waar de buitenwijken al trekjes krijgen van achterstandswijken, dus werk aan de winkel voor de gemeente. Het laatste gedeelte is ook echt mooi met weliswaar gemaakte natuur maar wel mooi waarna je via de brug in Muiderberg komt. Dit was tenminste de bedoeling, echter ik liep mis en kwam op de spoordijk van de lijn Weesp-Almere en even zoekend of ik goed zat en er mogelijk een pad aan de andere kant van het talud was, passeerde al een trein. Net daarna een trein vanuit Almere en stapvoets mij naderend voelde ik al nattigheid. Ik mocht er absoluut niet lopen, ze waren al gewaarschuwd door de andere trein en snel instappen was het enige wat restte om te voorkomen dat het hele circus van de NS op gang kwam. Wel apart om zo een trein in te stappen en bij de machinist mee kijken. De machinist en conducteur hadden al snel door dat ik geen zelfmoordneigingen had. De trein bracht me naar station Weesp waarna ik de trein terug naar Nijkerk kon nemen. In de morgen was ik van hieruit met bus 142 bij Nijkerkersluis gekomen. Een fijne wandeldag op een mooie nazomerse dag met dank aan de NS.
