&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;With nothing fixed yet, the most likely route is this. From Willemstad (NL), the Stellendam lock system will lift us onto the North Sea. There we probably head south along the Belgian coast before crossing &amp;#8220;&lt;EM&gt;The Channel&lt;/EM&gt;&amp;#8220; at Oostende or so. The English Channel between Oostende and Ramsgate is approximately 60 nautical miles wide. You can make that a - hopefully safe - &amp;#8220;day light crossing&amp;#8221;.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The English Channel is one of the World's busiest seaways, navigated by 400 ships a day. Both traffic on the &lt;EM&gt;UK-Europe&lt;/EM&gt; route (ferries!) and &lt;EM&gt;North Sea-Atlantic&lt;/EM&gt; route (containers &amp; tankers!) use The Channel. Crossing this strictly controlled Traffic Separation System for the first time, is a challenge to look forward to.....&lt;/P&gt;
