Maybe the heading is a bit rough. But a post on DailyKos indicated that their might be a link between the browser usage and the Right of Left orientation of the people. He suggested that you could see that most clearly by taking the statistics of explicit Right or Left leaning weblogs. So I checked it. Here are the results (percentages):
It's hard to deny it. Those on the Right are using Microsoft OS or browser more than those on the Left.
But why? Is it only the conservative nature of the Right that makes them stay with products that have far better alternatives?
Clues and other links are welcome.

And is Apple liberal???
I don't know. But the statistics do give a significant different reading for left and right. And all the figures were taken from Site Meter (within one hour after each other).
Of course, there are lies, darn lies and statistics......

That is... if the devision between left and right is still valid. You might get more distinctive figures when you devide between materialistic and post materialistic orientated sites.
And then a lot of sites check out what kind of browser you use. Some site deliberately render incorrectly when they find out you're using Safari, Shiira, Opera or a a different exotic browser. But you can let your browser lie to those sites by telling them they are Explorer running on Windows, in order to obtain the data hassle-free.
Welcome to browserwar II, where exotic browsers need to go incognito in order to get access.
Leftisch orientated sites might have a much bigger Safari/Firefox/Mac/Linux audience the statistics show.

But wouldn't be browsers be lying independent of the nature of the site they visit? It should not matter statisticaly.
And yes, 42! But I don't think the cat is fully aware of his great moment in history ;-)
@Chris C
I checked your entry and found that I worked for me. I'll keep an eye on it to see what results come out of it.
Might be cause for some more investigation. Extend it to the mailprogramme used.

but kos found different numbers for his site: 67% of IE users and 78% of windows users!!!!!
You link to the wrong page, it should be
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2004/12/3/11290/0220
FWIW, my blog, cedichou.blogspot.com, has 42% IE users (31% IE 6, 11% IE5) and 51% windows users (33% windows 2000, 11% XP, 6% windows 98, 1% windows millenium), but it is "le blog de san francisco", so it draws its audience from a heavy liberal AND tech savvy area (a very small audience compared to the guys you mention, but still statistically significant).

The figures are moving averages I found out. They only show the last X visitors. So you get different readings at different times.
But I found they still are within certain margins. Check

from Chris Corea for his work.
San Francisco. Been there some 11 years ago. Very nice city.
And compared to the other US cities I visited (las vegas, new york and chicago) the most liberal indeed.
