I Liked Fokke and Sukke Better

I already mentioned it passingly in a previous post, Fokke en Sukke go international, great! But... they have been renamed as, according to the authors, their name distracts from the comic (an irreverent duck and ditto canary, and yes, they are not wearing pants...). Fokke and Sukke are both real Dutch names, and originally the authors did not intend them to refer to the well-known English 4-letter words. When used as a verb in informal Dutch, 'Fokke' and 'Sukke' mean something like aggravating someone, or yanking someones chain. Their international names seem a bit tame: 'Duck and Birdie' (see here).
