Michael Connally has designed and built the Hydro-Foam, a remote controlled ekranoplane.
An ekranoplane is a wing-in-ground-effect craft (WIG), like the Soviet built Caspian Sea Monster which could lift 540 tons and cruise at over 450 km/h at an altitude of over 3 meters.
You can see the Hydro-Foam in action here or here.
The plans for this uber cool RC model are not on Michael Connally's
Page 'o Plans.
The Hydro-Foam is a remote control electric airplane powered by a brushless motor and lithium-polymer batteries. It's not a beginner airplane. We are working on getting the Hydro-Foam kits ready for production, but there is no pre-order list. They should be available world wide in the near future. We are not planning on making plans available at this time... sorry. I don't have a price yet or a hard time frame, but we are working as fast as we can. (...) Please check back here often for details on availability.
I have just one question to ask, Michael. How many days untill Christmas?!
