I came across a new service for people with slow internet connections. I am so fortunate to work over a high speed connections at the university so I can't actually test it. But the principle is simple. loband takes away all images (including the commercial ones) and simplifies the html. What remains are text-only web pages that can be loaded faster over slow connections.
