Norwegian Network on ICT and Development in Collaboration with NIBR and the University of Oslo
Annual workshop/International conference
”Digital Inclusion and Open Source”
Oslo, October 20-21, 2005
Call for papers
The Norwegian Network on ICT and Development convenes its annual conference for 2005, sponsored by the Research Council of Norway and in collaboration with the Department of Informatics (University of Oslo), Department of Media and Communication (UiO) and the EU project ‘Building European-African Network for Information Society in Health’ (BEANISH).
The aim of the conference is to gather researchers, policy makers and activists to address current issues on the digital divide and access to ICT. The ’free and open source’ movement provides a potential for key contributions to discussions and recent developments in this area. The conference will also focus on current efforts to bridge digital gaps and promote digital inclusion, both at local and global levels, with the second World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Tunisia in November 2005 as a backdrop.
We hereby call for papers that can enhance the discussions on these themes. Abstracts should be sent to Bard.Li@SVT.NTNU.NO by August 31, 2005.
