Naha - Okinawa

Phew, getting into the swing of things is rather hard when you have trouble getting to sleep; I reckon it's the adrenalin or something.
So I took it easy and went out checking the direct surroundings of our hotel, which includes Kokusai Dori. This is the de-facto tourist trap of Naha; the shops are lined up selling local spirits, local foods (with the odd restaurant mixed in), t-shirts, trinkets and statues of the local dragon/lion/dog named Shisa (those statues are awfully cute, by the way).
They are just about everywhere you look here on the island; these are advertising for one of the bars in Kokusai Dori.

After lunch, Rob and I went to Naha Airport for some plane spotting. When we arrived here, it was kind of dark, we were tired and wanted a bed.
So we got there and hung around a bit on the observation deck. Got a few decent pictures as well, but nothing to write home about, since the tarmac for take-off and landing is on the other side of the airport.

We're here, and I'm going to try to get the most out of it.

Cheers, K.
