Living with cats

If there's one thing I learnt from this week of cats, it's that if I'd like to have cats of my own, I'd like them to be a little more cheerful. :)

This dynamic duo is nice, but too frightened for their own good and are hissing at me if I'm about to invade their personal space, for instance if I need to use the loo.

They also have a way of making a point, like indicating when their litterbox is too dirty, according to them; they use something different, preferably a doormat or something. Their owners warned me about that, so I took some countermeasures; I removed the door mat at the front door and laid out an old towel on the bathroom floor, in case of emergencies.

Alas, I forgot the door mat at the back and instead of using the towel, they did a number on that mat.
Needless to say that I discovered this about one minute before I had to leave, so I cleaned their litterbox just now and got rid of the mat in question.
Not something I fancy to do early in the morning, I tell you. At least they had the decency to withhold a number 2...

On the other hand, they still adore my socked feet for some reason and Swiffer even lets me pet her with my right hand now and then.
Will be a heck of a challenge to put them back into their travel baskets.

Cheers, K.

A challenge indeed.
Today I finally determined that my bouts of sneezing and stuffed sinuses are due to those two, so I decided to get them home early. Fat lot of good that did; my hand has a few scrapes and they are still free to run around.
I narrowed their access to the hallway where their litterbox sits. I also moved their food and water from the kitchen to the hallway.

I'm going to have to leave them alone for a while now; they are quite stressed due to my unsuccessful efforts. But I need to get rid of them; I can't stand this shit and I'm out of allergy pills.

I gave up on catching them after a couple of futile attempts; I'll try and limit their range to the hallway and the staircase for you, which will probably make it easier for your efforts. :)
