Come Friday, my Mum's flying to Costa Rica with her boyfriend for a holiday, and this has me kind of worried. Now don't get me wrong; I am happy for her that she's finally living one of the dreams she has, and I hope she will have a wonderful time there, but it's with a small kernel of dread that I see her go to Latin America.
From what I hear, it's not really a very safe continent and all sorts of things and diseases can happen to you.
I do realise that she will be making this trip with other people (she booked a package deal, meaning that hotels and stuff are taken care of), that she has her boyfriend with her and that she's very capable of taking care of herself, but I can't help to worry just a little bit.
Have a safe journey, Mum.
Cheers, K.
Today had something nice in the mail. Two nice things even; one was a note from the mail man stating that he left a parcel at my neighbour's for me to pick up (about time; that shipment was sent over a month ago, it usually takes about a week or two), and a nice, written invitation from my employer, inviting me for the company's Christmas Party on December 19.
I remember last year's invitation being an e-mail, but this card is so much nicer. :)
The only downside about a hard copy card is that I have to type the e-mail address to confirm my participation by hand instead of clicking a link.
I'm lazy, sometimes.
Cheers, K.
