Training

Today, I had the first day of a two-day training in first aid. Well, for lack of a better word, because it's not full-blown first aid, but more like a skeleton training to help people out when they are involved in an accident or when there's a fire in the office, some of my colleagues are point men (and women) in taking care of assessing the problem and to get emergency services in if necessary.
Since a few of those colleagues left the company, the trained group of people kind of thinned, so I applied for it and got a go ahead in July.

The training consists of two days of exercises and explanations. One about how to asses the condition of someone who might be injured or unconscious, performing CPR if necessary until the paramedics arrive and an explanation on using an AED, and another one (next week) about detecting and assessing small fires and fighting them until the regular fire fighters take over.

Today was the day of medical stuff and I passed the test with flying colours (although it's not that hard passing a multiple-choice exam); next week we'll take care of fire fighting and how to keep yourself safe while doing it.

I also start with Japanese class again next week; let's see whether I can get some extra vocab into this head of mine.

Cheers, K.
