Today, the printer called about the booklet.
P: "Hey listen, do you realise half of your pages will be upside-down?"
K: "Uhm, I hope not." (heart racing; this can't be happening!) "Explain?"
P: "Well, the last edition was a book, right? And this edition is in landscape."
K. "True."
P: "Well, in order to get a readable booklet, you'll have to rotate the even pages."
K.: (seeing where this is going) "I think not; the last edition was landscaped, and I used that one as a template for this edition. Here, just look at page 4, where you'll see the page number on top, the text in the middle, and the section name near where the wire-o is going to be."
P: "But shouldn't you..."
K.: "And on page 5, you'll see the section name (with the wire-o) at the top, then the text in the middle, and the page number at the very bottom."
P: "Ah, well, now that I think of it; I never saw the previous booklet, so you are right."
K.: (while the visions of working until very late tonight to get a new version done in time start to fade again) "Thank you."
So he reckoned that the booklet will be sent by overnight courier to the office, and it will arrive at some time tomorrow, which allows me to forward a bunch to Niels so that he will have his share of this summer's edition in time for the August 1-flight.
I also got off the 'phone with the retailer who's supplying me with my new lens; it's in and ready for pick-up tomorrow.
Suitcase is partially packed so I will be able to drop by at Thomas' place tomorrow evening as well. \o/
Cheers, K.
