Damn, just a few days more, and I'll be in Japan again. I feel a bit like I'm running out of time, but just about everything I wanted to prepare is finished, so what am I worried about?
Wakaranai.
The only thing I need to do is finish the little label for my suitcase stating that this particular suitcase belongs to a tourist, and not to some terrorist.
I also need to pick up my new telephoto lens before Thursday. I hope the store gets the replacement lens on time, otherwise I won't be able to arrange the cash back-application, as I need the box and the receipt to do that before I leave.
Another thing I'm kind of worried about (but shouldn't) are the booklets and the t-shirts. Due to circumstances beyond his control, my buddy Robert wasn't able to print the booklets for me, so I had to take the backup option.
The t-shirts will probably arrive on Tuesday at my Mom's place, and hopefully, the booklets will arrive on the same day as well.
I know everything is in capable hands, but I figure I will be a bit tense until they arrive and I can see with my own eyes that everything is according to plan.
I'm a bit of a control freak, can you tell?
Apart from that, I'm about ready to go; my Passport is OK, I have the e-tickets, the Rail Pass vouchers and a nice document to keep a record on what people have to pay at which moment.
The latest edition of
MetrO on my Palm PDA, a wish list of things I'd like to buy over there and a semi-solid plan on things I want to see and do once I'm there.
I decided not to take the offer (which expires in four days) for one week Japan next year February, since I feel that one week is just a bit too short to fully enjoy the vacation and relax a bit.
I hope I can pop by at Thomas' place on Tuesday (can't call him now, 'phone's battery is flat as a pancake) and play some board games on Wednesday, which means I have to pack the majority of my suitcase tomorrow.
I intend to travel light this time; just 7 days worth of underwear and shirts, an extra pair of pants and a sweater, my tripod and some gifts, and that's about it for the suitcase.
As for the cabin luggage... You'll see. ;)
Cheers, K.
