I have always found it fascinating to see what's left of the preditions society made about the time we currently live in. According to the futuristic thinkers of the 1950's, we'd have several bases on the moon, everyone would hop into their flying cars to go to work (The Jetsons, anyone?) and just about everything is automated to a point where robots do the household.

While some things may have become reality over the years, like there are a host of robots capable of doing some boring task, like mowing the lawn or cleaning your floor, these robots are a far cry from Rosie the Robot Maid.

Modern Mechanix hosts a large number of articles and advertisements from the past century, describing all sorts of things like how television has grown over the decades, the way people think about things and the way things are advertised.
If you're interested in how stuff worked back then (also how it just failed to work), pay them a visit.

Cheers, K.
