Well, there have been quite a few signals over the past few weeks (weird clicks and stuff), but tonight, the horizontal circuit of my remaining iiyama 22" CRT monitor apparently died.
The only thing I see when I switch it on is a narrow vertical line from the top to the middle, and I don't think I can fix that very easily.
A pity, really; this monitor provided me with a 1792x1344x32@80Hz working area for many years.
I'm going to have to fork out some serious money to get something like that in tft.
I have a spare 19" Dell, though, so I'm not in dire straits, but compared to my super flat 510 Pro, the Dell looks like a fish tank.
The first of my two iiyama's went last year with similar problems, so the whole event didn't come to me as a surprise; I just hoped I could postpone purchasing a new monitor for a while.
A look on the bright side; my electric bill will drop even further, as most tft-monitors consume a fraction of what the iiyama needed.
Now to bring the system upstairs down; luckily, I can get to it through RDP on my laptop.
Cheers, K.
