Another fine example

But this time, it's just a little rant on the Dutch government.
You see, a few weeks ago, the Dutch parliament agreed on raising the speed limit for caravans; the limit currently sits at 80kph, it's going to be 90kph. Why? Because of traffic jams; researchers think that caravans are the root of all evil when it comes to slowing down traffic streams.
I have no idea whether this is true or false, so I'll get right to the point; this new limit may take years to get into effect, because of various systems and the police themselves havng to get used to it.

That's all fine and dandy, but this morning, I read in the paper that the fines for traffic violations will rise significantly next year.

Hold on, next year? So why does it take a cop years to get accustomed with a 10kph increase for a small group of drivers, but raising a tariff only takes a few months...

Go figure.

One thing is for sure though; it won't really help bring down the number of violations.

Cheers, K.
