Japanese 2: third lesson

Tonight was a mixed bag: kind of good and kind of sucky.
I was rather tired, so halfway through the evening, I was done; no new things were able to enter my mind and stay there. And I get mad because of it.

The problem is; I have a good grasp on the sounds and the way they are pronounced. I can count my way well into five digits, I'm able to place the correct particles (well, most of the time) at the correct places and I have extensive knowledge of the Japanese culture.

But somehow I'm unable to form proper sentences, I can't get the kana tables into my head and I keep making little mistakes, which annoys me to no end.

I still believe I'm getting something out of this course, though, so I'm not going to drop out or something.
But it's evenings like these that are very tough, both on me and on the people around me.

K.

I'll bet it will work better in an onsen, bar or restaurant setting. Taking a bath and a bottle of saké to class is a bit of a hassle though, I guess. ;-)

Yeah, I figured that out as well.

However, while filling the classroom with water is a bit of a stretch, bringing a bottle of sake is quite feasible. ;)
